Honoring Conestoga Town.
Below are the names of each of the Conestoga-Susquehannock who were viciously murdered while living peacefully in accordance with their treaty commitments. The tragic story of Conestoga is oft told and credited as the extinction of our people, but the individual names of those killed have rarely been spoken in the 250 years since. We encourage visitors to this page to speak their names, and to think about them as mothers, fathers, caretakers, and children, not as nameless victims of one of many massacres against peaceful Native American communities.
